Vladimir Radutny, AIA, was awarded the 2016 Dubin Family Young Architect Award from the AIA Chicago Foundation—a juried award established in 1983 to recognize excellence in ability and exceptional contributions by Chicago area architects between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-nine.
Radutny will discuss his career as Principal and Founder of Vladimir Radutny Architects, whose myriad residential projects have garnered several awards from AIA Chicago’s Design Excellence and Small Projects award programs (2013-16); among other awards such as the Builder’s Choice Custom Home Design (2016). His studio’s approach is ideas-driven, with dedication to artistic thinking and experimentation, testing designs that result in work that moves beyond just an aesthetic response. He has taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and is recognized for challenging the conventional interpretations of space, function, and material use.
ChiDM Presents is a semi-monthly event series within City of Ideas: Architects’ Voices and Visions. All events are free and open to the public, and held at ChiDM on the 3rd floor of Block 37.
