For this virtual workshop, Design Museum of Chicago has partnered with Others Unlimited, an empathy training company. Founded by ethnographer, strategist, and design researcher, Karen Faith, Others offers perspective-taking skills for individuals and teams.
Whether applied interpersonally, or at scale between consumers and brands, the practice of listening is key to our efficacy as creators and collaborators. In this 90 minute virtual workshop, participants will practice three 1:1 techniques designed to deepen connection and understanding, both personally and professionally.
Introduced through the case story of a complex brand reimagined, we’ll examine the ways that empathy was put into action, from the research process to the customer experience. Designers, strategists, and marketers will learn how to find more actionable insight in the stories of their audiences, while collaborators and civilians will find deeper meaning and connection with others.
