ChiDM Presents: Organizing for Action

Two abstract geometric shapes of orange and yellow on a black background. A half tone sky image partially overlays both shapes. A teal paint splatter is on the right two-thirds of the image, with CHiDM Presents: on top of it all.

Organizers: Building Communities to Take Action

Organizing for Action is mobilizing and training the next generation of progressive leaders. We work every day to empower a network of thousands of grassroots volunteers across the country to create the change they seek—whether that’s standing up for sensible gun legislation, protecting Obamacare, acting on climate change, or protecting immigrants’ rights.

But organizing isn’t just knocking on doors and making calls—it’s understanding real people, hearing their personal stories, and building trust in the long term.

In our current political climate, we must challenge ourselves and each other to design more inclusive, empowering, and representative spaces (both physical and digital) in order for relationship-building and storytelling to take place to encourage more effective action.

ChiDM Presents is a semi-monthly event series within Dan Friedman: Radical Modernist. All events are free and open to the public, and held at ChiDM on the 3rd floor of Block 37.

The museum is closed until June 30th, 2020.

While distancing we are planning virtual events, moving our exhibitions online, and publishing student design projects. Take care of yourself!
