Please join us at the annual 50,000feet Open House on December 6 for an evening of food, drink and art.

As one of the Design Museum’s founding sponsors, 50,000feet shares our commitment to supporting arts and culture and stewarding an ongoing dialogue around creativity and design. This year, 50,000feet has partnered with Hyde Park Art Center to curate Space Between the Lines, an immersive, interactive installation across media that brings new dimensions and textures to the 50k space. Hyde Park Art Center will bring its talent and vision for a truly one-of-a-kind experience, featuring artists Assaf Evron, SaraNoa Mark, Sarah Nishiura, Sonja Thomsen and Selina Trepp. The exhibition presents a selection of photography, textiles, ceramics and animation by contemporary artists approaching historical and social content through formal aesthetics.

As we take this moment on December 6 to celebrate the past year and anticipate the next, we invite you to give to the Design Museum as part of our Annual Fund campaign, which 50,000feet has graciously agreed to match dollar-for-dollar (up to $10,000). Amid great art that inspires in a space known for great ideas that move the world, we hope you’ll be moved to support and sustain the Design Museum of Chicago in our efforts to bring unparalleled exhibitions and programs to Chicago residents, visitors and the world at large. Make your donation by December 31, 2019, and it’ll go twice as far thanks to 50k matching. We’ll be on hand at the Open House on Friday to answer your questions about the Museum’s focus for 2020, hear your ideas and feedback and collect a $5 suggested donation (if you feel so inclined).
