Please join us for the opening reception of our latest exhibition: New Horizon: Architecture from Ireland.
New Horizon represents an international partnership between ChiDM and Irish Design 2015. The exhibition features a powerful site-specific installation that pays homage to Chicago’s architectural legacy while simultaneously showcasing the work of three dynamic Dublin-based architecture firms: A2, GKMP, and Ryan Kennihan Architects.
This event is free and open to the public.

ChiDM is an official Affiliate Partner of The Chicago Architecture Biennial. We are proud to announce that partial funding for New Horizon exhibition programming was made possible by a grant from The Graham Foundation.
Irish Design 2015 (ID2015) is a year-long initiative backed by the Irish government exploring, promoting, and celebrating Irish design throughout Ireland and internationally.
New Horizon: Architecture from Ireland is curated by Raymund Ryan and Nathalie Weadick and is the second installment of an international program that started in June 2015 at the London Festival of Architecture and will continue in Shenzhen/Hong Kong Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture in December.

Between the print shop and podcast recording studio at Some Office (the Cards Against Humanity headquarters in Chicago) is the Blackbox Gallery.
Art is an award-winning designer and artist that lives and works in Chicago. He served as founding art director of Playboy Magazine for 30 years, where he designed its iconic rabbit logo, and commissioned artists like Warhol, Dalí, and Rosenquist.
Print Magazine credits him as the “Illustration Liberation Movement” founder, due to his persistence that design and illustration should be seen as “high art” when approached with integrity, emotional depth, and a spirit of experimentation.
His life, impact, and work is the subject of a highly anticipated feature-length documentary film, “The Man Behind the Bunny: Art of Playboy.”

In addition to music, mingling, and the ever-popular photo booth, you’ll get the first peek at our current exhibition—an anthology of work from Chicago’s graphic design legacy and a glimpse into how the tools we use to design and communicate could evolve and influence our interactions in the future.
